LifeStore Bank Announces Leadership Changes - March 2024
West Jefferson, NC – LifeStore Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of three employees to fill key leadership roles for the organization. Brianna Ashley has accepted the role of Chief Operating Officer, Brian Greer has accepted the position of Chief Lending Officer, and Hal Hood has been named Market President for the Boone area.

Brianna has over twenty-five years of banking experience at LifeStore Bank. She joined the organization as an accounting officer and became the Controller in 2001. As Chief Operating Officer, she will have oversight of the accounting group, the retail branches, and call center operations, as well as the facilities.
Brianna is very involved in supporting the youth in her community and has a passion for coaching. She is the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Coach at Ashe County High School, where she has been coaching for six years. Brianna graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Accounting. Brianna and her husband, Greg, reside in the Warrensville community and have three children.
Brian joined LifeStore Bank as a Commercial Lender in 2016. He has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry and has held leadership positions with SunTrust and Capital Bank in the Raleigh market. He has worked as Market President for LifeStore Bank’s Watauga market for the past two years.
In his new position, Brian will be responsible for developing and managing business and lending relationships for LifeStore Bank. Brian is active in the Boone community and is a board member and treasurer for Watauga County Habitat for Humanity. Brian graduated from NC State University with a BA in Political Science. Brian and his wife Kelly live in Boone and have two daughters.
Hal has worked as a Commercial Loan Officer for LifeStore Bank since 2019, when he returned to his hometown of Boone after managing in the hospitality industry in New York City. In his new position as Market President, he will continue to develop relationships within the business community and serve the banking needs of the Watauga market.
Hal is a board member of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Membership Committee. Hal graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Business Marketing. Hal and his wife, Mandi, live in Boone and have one daughter.
LifeStore dates back to 1939 when its founders saw the need for a local building and loan association to help people purchase and build new homes. Today, LifeStore Bank operates in four locations in Ashe and Watauga Counties, and LifeStore Insurance is in those locations, as well as Elkin, Lenoir, Newland, and Sparta.
