Join the fun and show off your creativity in our annual Piggy Bank Contest! Build your own piggy bank using a recycled plastic bottle and enter for a chance to win a cash prize.
How to Participate
Follow the steps below to create your very own DIY Piggy Bank!
What You'll Need:
- 1 clean, dry plastic bottle
- Scissors
- Craft paper (scrap book, card stock or construction type) to wrap around your bottle piggy and for ears (pink and white for a more traditional piggy or any color combination you'd like)
- Pom Poms for feet
- Black marker
- Googly eyes
- Pipe cleaner (for tail)
- Craft knife (optional/adult supervision)
- Glue and/or tape (adult supervision)
- Embellishments of your choosing such as feathers, stick on gems, foam letters, beads etc. Use your imagination!
Instructions:
- Clean the plastic bottle and remove labels. Allow to dry completely.
- Cut a piece of craft paper to fit around the circumference of the water bottle and glue or tape in place.
- Using a craft knife, or scissors, cut a slot on the top of the pig's back just big enough to insert coins and bills.
- Glue the feet to the opposite side of the coin slot. Allow to dry completely.
- Using scissors, cut out ears from the construction paper.
- Glue ears onto the top of the water bottle. Allow to dry completely.
- Glue the googly eyes on either side of the bottle near the cap. Allow to dry completely.
- Using a permanent marker, draw eyebrows, add nose holes on the cap, and a mouth underneath the cap.
- Wrap the pipe cleaner around your finger a few times to create the tail.
- Glue/ tape the tail to the back of the pig.
- At this point, add whatever fun elements you would like to make your piggy as unique as you!
Contest Rules
- Open to children under 18.
- One entry per child.
- Piggy banks must be original creations using the materials listed.
- No offensive or inappropriate designs.
- Creativity and originality will be judged.
- All entries must include a completed Parental Consent Form and Piggy Bank ID Card.
- Winners will be contacted by May 5, 2026.
Deadline for Entries: April 30, 2026 at 4:59 PM
Prizes:
